Transistor sound question.....

Hi, I'm messing around with my first build. It's a LBP style boost. I'm also using it as an experiment with DOD 250, MXR Distortion + plus style clipping. Anyway, I have a 2N5088 in it now. I notice from other similar schematics that I could use a 2N5089, 2N3904 or 2N5133 in it also. Is there a list somewhere that outlines the differences in these transistors? Or do you guys have opinions on what sonic changes swapping these would make? They are cheap enough that I could try them all I suppose.....

Most likely, you'll hear little or no difference in the sound. Some transistors are noisier than others, and for an application like this one, a low-noise device is a good idea.
