Noob problem with the tytewadd- help?

So, I sat down to do my second build last night and I decided to put together Tim's Tytewadd (it looked easy and it's gotten some good reviews).  I used Torchy's old vero board layout and I can't get the stupid thing to work.  So, I was wondering, first of all, has anyone used Torchy's layout for the tytewadd? 

I stared at all eight components, the schematic, and the layout (even looking at Dragonfly's layout, too) for a long time, and I can't see my error.  This is what's happening: I get no sound when the circuit's getting power, and the transistors get really hot soon after I plug in the 9 volt.  I imagine this is some simple, stupid error on my part and I just can't see it...  Question number 2: Are the hot transistors a symptom of something?
