One of the many "mods" for these is to replace the two small 0.22uf tantalum
caps with poly films, some like it and some dont.
However, until now `I had not tried lowering/removing C4, the 0.22uf tantalum to ground
after the 1k from pin 1 of the op amp, it sits at the bottom of the opamp, next to pin 4
as the trace to it runs under the middle of the ic.
I spotted it in the "simple mods" section earlier today, as described by Jack Orman.
While I found just removing it, a little too bright, reducing it to 0.047uf is a wonderful
change, just gives the TS some "bright spank" to its tone and can be tamed by rolling down
the tone pot to about 10 o'clock.
It actually seems to make the tone control much more useful tooƂ  !!
To quote someone, it sounds like a "blanket" has been taken off your amp  ...

Thanks Jack, this is well worth the 5 mins required to do it :D
