Anyone know where to get a sloped panel enclosure like Fulltone uses for alot of their effects? Hammond makes one similar but the back has vent hole type things.

no one ever

Hey,
I'm looking into making some, I've gotten a couple of quotes, but I need a couple of more.   I'm looking at buying quite of few to get the cost down.   I'll probably have them by February or so, I can keep you posted if you're interested.  I'd like to know if there is interest in the DIY community as well...

These are similar to the ones that Snarling Dogs and Lovetone use.

LMB makes them too.

Fry's Electronics sells some that are about 4" wide. You can make something that looks like this with one of them

I saw a few of those from LMB - seemed kind of flimsy. I would be really interested in a slopped enclosure that was road-worthy-tough like those Fulltone 16 gage steel ones :) so let me know if you find a source - thanks.

Yeah, they are a little on the flimsy side. They get a lot strurdier when you bend those tabs in a little bit more on the sloped face - it makes a big difference when you step on the switch. But, OTOH, I wouldn't expect it to last that long if you aren't careful with it...  :icon_sad:

i just got a mouser order today, and i have one of those LMB enclosures.  It looks just like a fulltone, but is slighlty bigger, but still not as tall as a wah, it looks bigger in the pictures then what it is,...the slant front is shorter and steeper than a fulltone i think,...

It isn't as strong as the hammond aluminum cast, but it is still strong,...or it looks so,..maybe after i put a switch in and use it, you might be right,...

when i ordered it, it said ivory, but it ended up being cream/ivory on top, front and back, and sides and bottom are brown,...it looks good to me,...but time will tell,....only complaint is i wish they didn't make it so tall on the back,

it is 1" and 7/8" tall at back, it is 4 and 15/16"long on bottom(back to front) and slope is 2" and 7/8",  flat top is a little under 2" 1/2" long(back to front), and the pedal is 2" 15/16" wide, perfect for me!!

I'll report in a few weeks when i get to that project,...how it worked out as an enclosure,...

but you should probably listen to paul when he says it isn't strong, he is usually right  :icon_wink:

PS:paul is yours the same as mine dimensions wise? or is yours bigger?

I've used this enclosure from Radio Shack frequently. (A thread about it here) and it's fairly easy to modify it so it has a sloped front. (I've done it a couple of times) with a good pair of heavy duty metal shears or a dremel tool.  While it's not the strongest of boxes, seems plenty sturdy enough for everything I've thrown at it.

It appears to be the same dimensions from what I can tell.
