I am looking for a 16mm Alpha PCB mount potentiometer with a knurled shaft, the same ones Futurlec sells, but in 1M log (they dont have it).

I have googled till my fingers are worn to the bone.

Does anyone know where I can get some?

Much appreciated.

Thanks, the shaft is longer though.  :icon_neutral:

aus$15 isnt alot really when you consider the strength of the pound. they are pretty cheap too, if it werent for the longer shaft I would buy em, but I will keep that site in my favourites, looks good.

Again, thanks.

Again, if you look in the catalogue they have the longer shaft.

Nelson, it would help if you linked to the ones you want.

ESR sell 16mm Alphas if I recall (with the shaft you require).  The short ones (is that what you're after?).

Edit checked the catalogue and the sell 1M log and lin.

The shaft is too long on those alpha pots ESR stocks too.

The futurlec pots have the perfect hight shaft.

ESR Electronics in the UK sell 16mm 1Meg Log Alphas for £0.56p. The shaft is long but like the guys said, just cut 'em down.

I cut mine with a Dremel or a hacksaw.

I gave up with ESR after recieving "dozens" of "alpha copies" which would not work
and several whose 'LUGS' WERE BROKEN OFF !!
All the bad ones looked like alphsa but were not stamped with the alpha name.
I was told that they were kept in a huge bucket  :icon_eek:
I complained by email and never even got a response ....
Never again ....
I've used smallbear since for pots and they are all good :D

The bloke who runs it is a reasonable man.  Had you phoned and arranged to return the stuff you'd have got your money back.  That is bad though.

I use those plastic green Omeg pots, big but beautiful...

Ive had one bad pot in about 200 ordered. Got money refunded on next order, though I live close enough to visit not just phone/mail. Everywhere else seems to have a really limited range of values ... particularly 250K hard to get. Should use Smallbear I s'pose ....

AzzR

Just chuck the pot in a vyce and hacksaw it down

Also while we are on the subject of finding pots, where can i get different value sliding pots? the only ones i can find are 50K at dicksmiths
