i'm considering opening up my digitech digiverb to mod it.  I'd like to somehow get a longer decay time out of it (even if it sounds horrible).  reason i don't want to open it up is because it's NIB and if i sell it, i don't want to take a screwdriver to it!

anyone take a look inside it?  if it's going to be difficult to work with (like with tiny surface mount stuff), then i won't even bother!

thanks :)

i have seen the envelope insides and the black distortion one, there are a few parts, but mostly dsp crap

A lot of digitech stuff is done with a proprietary chip. I don't know about those models, though.

It's probley using their COSM chip for the effects, and thusly very un-moddable.  I would avoid opening it up.  The decay time is probley handeld by code hardcoded into a ROM chip.
