Soldering iron out of control?

Woo hoo... Well, I think I'm back in business... time will tell. :D

There was a loose wire inside the handle, but it did not break off from the PCB. In mine, it was a yellow wire with a female pin connector on the end. Apparently, it should be slipped onto the big spring that sits under the black knurled plastic thingy. Now, with the tempreature control knob set at minimum, the temperature goes up to about 400 degF and the led starts blinking. No more glowing red overheated tip. I dialed the temperature up to about 525 degF and wetted the tip with solder. Seems like problem solved. Thanks, Hans and everyone else! Y'all are the greatest! 8)
