Hey everybody,
I'm new to building, modifying, and fixing pedals, so if this is a stupid question please bear with me.  I am trying to fix a broken effect on/off switch on my buddy's Option 5 Destination Rotation, but I'm not sure what the switch is.  I opened it up thinking it would be a 3DPT, but it turned out to be something different.  It said Cliff on it so I checked their website (http://www.cliffcomponents.com/) and it looks like Product # FC71065.  Is this just a DPDT switch?  If not what type of switch is it.  The clostest switch I could find on the Small Bear Electronics site was the Carling 316-PP (http://www.smallbearelec.com/Detail.bok?no=80).  Would this work?  If not what would and where would I find it?  Please any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike

That Carling would work superbly. That switch you linked to is indeed a DPDT just like the carling. Although you could always upgrade to a 3DPT to get true bypass.

You could also use the Alpha 107-SF12020 from smallbear if you don't want to spend 8.50 for a carling

Thanks for the reply.  If I wanted to upgrade to a 3DPT how would I wire that.  Currently only two of the points (if that is what they are called) are wired to the board the way it looks in the picture, and that is all that is wired.  Can you give me any advice on how to do this or should I just stick with tryin to get the DPDT to work for me.  It would be nice to have the effect be true bypass, but also I have a spare 3DPT laying around, so that would be ideal.  Please let me know if you can.  Thanks a lot.http://img162.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dtdpswitch2kj.png

Well, if you want to use a DPDT just follow the drawing at http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/diagrams/switch_lo_dpdt_std.gif

And if you want to try the 3PDT its at http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/diagrams/switch_lo_3pdt_tb_battery.gif

Note that both of these use a stereo input jack to turn the battery on and off by shorting the negative of the battery to ground. So if your effect doesn't have these already (which I highly doubt it does) it would be wise to get some. Smallbear sells some great ones.

Basically the only difference between these is the indicator LED with the 3PDT.
