Ross compressor debugging?

I'm building a ross compressor for someone and have wired it all up.
I get no effected signal except when the level and sustain is cranked to max and even then it is a faint signal.
Where should I start: measure voltages on the tranny's and op amp?
I'm getting voltage thru the cricuit.

I've built a few of these before with success right off the bat.

There are all the usual cuprits to consider:
a) used a transistor with a different pinout
b) cold solder joints
c) solder bridges or other shorts on the copper side of the board
d) bad pots
e) broken wires inside otherwise intact-looking insulation
f) bent IC pin under the chip between the chip and socket

Well looking over it last night:
-Transistor pinouts ok - used 2n5088 which I have use before with success
- op amp is tested o.k
- pots I'm sure are o.k
- Checked for solder bridge could find none

However b) e) f) are things I need to check out.
Is there an easy way to detect a cold solder joint?

It feels like there is an effect signal trying to come thru but it is very faint.

I don't know of any simply quick way to check for cold solder joints without a hunch about *which* solder joints.  Typical ones to check are those where you maybe re-used parts.  Most of us just reflow the joints if the board is simple enough.
