slow volume, auto-swell DIY pedal?

i ran across the Guyatone SV-2 slow volume pedal online.  i think it's a cool idea, and i would like to have one.  or build one.  does anyone know of a project like this?  or maybe an idea of how to start one?

by the way:  i did search, and found some things.  however, all projects mentioned are broken links.  supposedly GGG had one, but it won't work.  also the Paia gator and the old Electronics And Music maker project file is broken.  just letting you know...

yeah, just remember with the slow-gear, it needs a lot of tweaking and compression before it to work well, (this is what people with the original all say - but they also say its good).
