DIY has unpleasant realities, such as that an operating soldering iron has two ends differing markedly in the degree of comfort with which they can be grasped. - J. Smith

Poor guy...........that just totally sucks.
I really hope he gets it back.... I'd be checking Ebay every day if I was him.

Tragic,
I have been hearing more of these horror stories lately.
The indy/shoegaze band "Film School" got their whole van ripped.

On our next tour,
I am just taking a Blues Deville, and some newer tele's that can be replaced if the worst happens.
scary!

The all-time classic was when Sonic Youth's trailer was stolen mid-tour.  They had probably 2-dozen guitars, all alternate-tuned, and hadn't bothered to memorize the tunings.  They had stickers on the backs of the headstocks with the tunings written on them.

Best of luck to your friend.  The Ebay tip was a good one, because if he can track down one piece, I'm sure the rest of them will be much easier to find.

Sorry to hear that.  I keep a look out here in Birmingham...

BTW here is the list of stuff stolen from Sonic Youth -

Tell him to watch ebay Mike. That is where most stolen gear is fenced these days. -ph

Ouch!  That sucks completely.  (I know I'm not helping, I just had to react--reading that actually hurt.)

There are some really sick people in this world. If I couldn't afford a new guitar or amp, I'd thank my lucky stars that I already have one, not go and nick one.
Might be worth checking local ads for similar items, as well as Ebay.

Dont forget about checking on Craigslist under Atlanta

sorry to hear this!  I heard that Derek Trucks recently had a good portion of his gear stolen in Atlanta also?  Maybe there is a thing goin' on with some locals who are in the know somehow?

I hope someone catches these low life MO-FO's and they get their skulls bashed in !

choklitlove

agreed.  when they catch them, they don't need to give them a sentence or anything.

just let the whole internet music community know where they're dropping him off...
