any ideas on using using max1044a to bump 9v to 18v???

Can anyone send me a diagram or show me where to find a simple circuit using this chip to bump a 9 volt source up to an 18 volt one for a power supply to a boost pedal?

Note the absolute maximum input is 10.5V.
OK, a battery isn't going to exceed this.. but a wallwart might!

Actually some fresh batteries I measured have given almost 11V. Nice shock when you do the tongue-check :D

Look at the Texas Instruments or Linear Technology  LT1054 datasheet. They have a positive voltage doubler circuit in there. Key thing to note over the Maxim part is that the LT1054 can supply 100 mA while the Maxim only 10mA. The 1044 also has a reduced input range (10V), while the LT1054 can accept up to 15V.
