I'm hoping to start my first transistorized build this weekend and before I do, I was wondering if there were any theory documents specific to any of the common "boost" builds I see in the layouts section.

I'm thinking of building a rangemaster and though I feel I have a good understanding of how a transistor works, I don't necessarily understand they hows and whys of the whole circuit.  Why caps and resistor etc are where they are and stuff like that.

Anything like that floating around?  Any good transistor resources I should check out prior to building?

Thanks!

Theres a writeup of the Rangemaster somewhere on geofex if i remember correctly

I re-read the pamphlet I printed with that material in it, at least parts of it, many times, great reads.

It took me about 4 seconds to find the rangemaster stuff at GeoFex.  Didn't even think of looking there.  Thanks as always.  :icon_biggrin:
