P'n'P - waiting between transfer and etch?

I was wondering, is there anything wrong with waiting to etch your boards for a while after you've transfered the layout onto the board using the P'n'P blue stuff?  I usually do the whole process at once, but I misjudged how much ferric chloride I have, and have a couple of boards with the design transferred, but that I won't be able to etch until I can get some more.

I have had boards lying around for months with transfers on, then etching them with no problems.

Even if the board tarnishes, the ferric chloride etch will dissolve the tarnish straight off & go to work.
