Put this together last night from the Tonepad layout. Tried it today and it doesn't work :(

I do get sound out of it, but its quieter than when bypassed and theres no phasing happening.

voltages and stuff:
battery - 9.1V (and the thing is drawing about 19mA of current)

IC1
1 - 3.13
2 - 3.13
3 - 2.12
4 - 0
5 - 2.2 to 4.2
6 - 2.7 to 4.7
7 - 1.25 to 8.5
8 - 9.12

IC2
1 - 1.46
2 - 2.44
3 - 2.44
4 - 0
5 - 3.07
6 - 3.13
7 - 4.79
8 - 9.12

IC3
1 - 1.5
2 - 3.14
3 - 3.06
4 - 0
5 - 3.06
6 - 3.14
7 - 4.76
8 - 9.12

the negative end of the zener diode (a 4.7V one since thats what I got at the store, C4V7PH) - 3.14

the PNP transistor (subbed a BC327 since thats the closest thing I found in my PNP colleciton, only has opposite pinout which I adhered to)
C - 3.21
B - 3.66
E - 3.12

the FETs (I used four 2n5952s matched to between 1.93-1.97, couldn't get any closer that that)
G - from left to right: 2.43, 3.06, 3.06, 3.06
S - 3.13
D - 3.13

I really have got no idea what to look for. The voltages look kind of low across the entire thing comparing them to the ones listed on some older threads on the thing (reading through them now)

Some tonepad layouts have transistors the wrong way round. You might want to check that.

And this one does  :P

had put the FETs in the wrong way (realised after the gates of the FETs marked on the layout). Now the voltages on them are:

G - 3.06
S - 3.06
D - oscillating somewhere between 1.5 and 2.2V

but still no phasing

you think the "putting them in the wrong way" part may have killed them?

Seljer

Well I tried some 2n5457s that I also had matched around 0.7V, still nothing. I did the audio probe thing and I loose most of the signal by the inputs and outputs of the first 2 phase stages, I'm not sure If i'm even getting anything on the last two.

Fixed it!

it was a barely visible solder bridge across 2 pins of the second opamp  :-\

Congrats, Seljer!  It's a nice feeling when they finally fire up.   :)
