So, finaly I got my VB-2 clone working :D
I used the schematic with the BA6110 posted by byoc at http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=45067.0 Did my own layout for it.
Though it was a bit tricky bringing to life.
I missread the schematic on several places, wich had me debuging the circuit for some time (wrong values on resistors and caps).
For the TL022 in the LFO section I ended up with a TLC272 wich seems to be a good subsitute. It goes from 1.8 - 14hz. (Seems OK to me)
As for the extra transistor array preceeding the BA6110 I used 2N5087 and 5088 as suggested by byoc.
Though that did not bring the circuit to life, there was no modulation of the sound.
Finaly I put a 50K trimpot instead of R53(33K) connected between the BA6110 and the transistor array, tweaked it and yes, it's alive! I ended up with a resistance of 42K. It seems very sensetive to the right value.
Anyone else built one with the BA6110, did it work with the 33K R53?

Here's a small soundclip I've recorded http://media.putfile.com/Boss-VB-2

Now it just has to be boxed up. I'll post pictures when it's done :icon_cool:

Nice one!! Congrats!!
Do you have a copy of your layout handy? I've been wanting to build one of these!

Well, yes I do. But there's some corrections I have to make to it. As for now I've got some components missing in the layout :icon_redface:
The layout is divided in two circuitboards, one for the signalpath and one for the modulation of it.
I'l be happy to post it later when it's a working one.

buildyourownclone.com has a board + chip for pretty cheap and the build is really really easy...  plus there are pleeennty of fun mods you can add.
can you post your layout for it though?  i would love to make another without buying another board!

it's all the controls on the left half of the box + the top 2 big knobs.

:o :icon_eek: Thats some box you got there!

As I mentioned earlier I'll post the layout when it's a working one, thought I'd include the chorus mod in it also.
