What should I be paying for these? Thanks.

I guess it depends on how NOS they are but these are a good buy

I got some a while ago for my Coloursound Overdriver and it sounds great. All mine had about HFEs of about 350 and you get an added mojo bonus because they ex MOD :)

Well, I paid 11p each twenty years ago, and still have some left...  :icon_wink:

If you are desperate Futurlec has BC109's for 35c each as well as BC109C's & BC108's.
I've only got BC108's from them & they're T-05 metal cans!
Don't know if they are NOS or just new.

There you go! I wonder if there is any real difference between NOS & new

If you can hear any difference, your amp is not loud enough :icon_biggrin: :icon_biggrin: :icon_biggrin:

Where are u , and do they need to be NOS?

Rapid in UK are about 15p each and get cheaper for bulk

Hope that helps

I don't find the BC108 or BC109 to be particuarly expensive or hard to find here in the UK - don't go paying over the odds for 'em.

I prefer BC182s, BC184s or 2N3094s for most overdrives over the metal can BC108/9 - just my preference.

If there is such a thing as genuinely new BC108 / BC109s, I bet they're TO5-canned BC548 / 549s. Much the same, but lower noise.
