What value resistor do I need to throw inline with a pot valued 50k to make it the equvalent of a 100k pot?  Would this simply be a 5ok resistor?

 that will give you a max of 100k, but your pot will of course only sweep from 50k to 100k.

Haha I see.  I guess there is no substitute for the correct value pot to begin with.  Thanks.
