From the data sheet, it would seem that a TL072cp would also be fine
It's LinCMOS, so a good high impedance dual OA should work ....\

Possible replacements:

IC1 - LM358/TL062/TL072/TL082/RC4558 etc. (current consumtion variable)
IC2 - LM358

nope, the J175 appears to be a p-channel JFET

Looks great. Is this comp 'tuned' primarily for guitar, or could it perform equally well on other stuff, like bass or vocals? Also, how about powering at 18V (two batteries) for more headroom? Nice job on the layout, too.

Compressor work with guitar and bass. This is not vocal compressor.
For bass increase C4 to 470nF and C10 to 2µ2.
18V usable, but headroom is not increased.
