Hi everyone, I'm looking to build a ring modulator and have narrowed it down to one of these - Lovetone or Maestro. I was just wondering if any of you have had experience with both of them and could compare them to each other in terms of sound. I'm well aware that in terms of features they differ quite strongly. Maybe they are so different from one another I may have to eventually build both. :icon_evil: Which ever one I decide to build (or one of the two) I want attach the tone god's vanishing point 2.1 to sequence the mod freq, sorta like the zvex ring tone.

Any thoughts? I know some forumites have built the maestro and lovetone.

Something similar, but still good, is the old PAiA 4710 balanced modulator.
Or, the newer 9710.......www.paia.com....
The 4710 uses a more procurable IC: the 1496.
Much easier to tune up than the StringRinger(RingStinger).
U can find most PAiA schematics by googling, or join the PAiA Forum on YahooGroups.
Be advised that the 4710 is a Modular Synth module...it uses +/-9V for power,
and needs a preamp to be used with guitar or other low-output instrument.
