Honestly, I'm fine with how the tone control works. I'm using a linear taper pot and it gets really touchy towards the end, but as long as it gets me where I need to go I don't really care. I've never been too particular about what taper I use, but I try to use the correct one when possible.

Try a 2k for the tone pot. It works.

Good link SteveB, thanks.
Besides the 2k pot, there are a couple of other would be solutions in that thread too.

That thread should go in the wiki under TS troubleshooting.

Also in that thread Mark writes about changing the .22 tant (C9) to .047uF.
I have tried .1uf and .22uf values. Both sound the same to me.
.047 may be the right value to get my tone control out of the 5 o'clock zone down to the 12 o'clock position.
Darn, don't have one  :icon_cry:
It's time to buy a gun. That's what I've been thinking.
Maybe I can afford one, if I do a little less drinking. - Fred Eaglesmith

I hate not having the right part, that's why I went all out and filled up 2 parts bins full of stuff. That, along with my parts bin and scrap bin, keeps me pretty occupied.
