Boss has recently changed the chip in the DS-1.They went from BA 728N To M5223AL.-This means that it sounds a lot more fuzzier than ever.
I mention this because the DS-1,modded and running on 18 volts.remains as one of my favourite overdrive ever.
Modding a new Ds-1 demands further changes.
I just thought you should know.

I use a clone DS1 which use TA7136AP which is IC used in MIJ DS1. I like the sound. Running on 18volt? You swap all e.caps to 50V rating ?
Does it help to improve the sound? headroom?

PatrikViking

Thank you for the tip on TA7136AP,-Yes i Change the caps for higher rating. You get more headroom and a purer sound without the "fuzz".

I thought "fuzz" is characteristic of DS1 ?

Well, when a DS-1 is modded in the correct way,it blossoms in to a nice flower of an overdrive.
