Just finished building Foxx Tone Machine using the layout and PCB from GGG. It sounds really cool exept for a real lack of volume, probably about 50-60% under bypassed volume. I originaly had 4 NOS Germaniums (for 1n34a) from small bear, but due to two of them cracking I had to replace them with different 1n34a's which are about half the size. The replacements are in the D2 and D3 positions. Should I replace the other 2 diodes (D1 and D4) with the new diodes or order more of the original ones to go back into D2 and D3?
Or is the problem likely to be something completely different?

Thanks heaps,
Paul

The problem is likely to be something completely different.

See the sticky "What to do when it doesn't work" at the top of the forum.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.
