I've built 4 of these so far and I always use a 1N914 and a 1n34A for clipping diodes.

I used two 3mm red leds. Will try the regular diodes tomorrow then.
Another thing, when I turn it on, with no power supply or battery, I hear my guitar signal, but very low.
Is it normal?

Made a nice small layout

I know I only need a spst for the switch but I have no spsts and 20 spdts. Let me know if there are any problems with it!
