I recorded some soundclips

check this link for my posts (alderbody)

I used my Warmoth total vintage Strat copy loaded with WCR SR pickups.

The amp is a Fender Twin Reverb.

The Thor is set at full gain and low volume, Low and high switches on.

The Wah clips are done with the Strat into the wah, into the Thor with the same settings.

For the recording i used a ..tape recorder, then loaded in the pc via line_in (don't have a decent mic...).

No effects were added, only de-noise and de-hiss filters to improve the quality.

The differences in Wah tone due to different inductors or the application of the treble mod, may not be quite distinguishable due to the nature of the recording.

I'll record more soon....

I added some more.

There are 3  clips about my Uni-Vibe clone. The config is Wah, UniVibe, Thor.

The Wah is parked @ toe down (full treble), the vibe is either full speed/low intensity, or slow speed/high intensity, and Thor is Full gain/low Volume/both switches on.

For the Peppermill clips i play one lick clean, then add the PM, then i add the resonance pedal (Modded parked Wah) for extra boost.

I made my peppermill with extra clipping sections. One uses Ge diodes and one uses Mosfets_as_diodes.

The difference is quite audible, especially when the 'boost" is engaged.

Listen and "see" for yourselves!

Yay soundclips!
The univibe sounds nice. The clip is a bit cratchy sounding but the vibe sounds juicy.

Thanks John!

The recording quality is indeed compromised...
(i remind you: Tape recorder, then into pc through line_in and simply de-hissed to maintain original sound as much as possible)

But i believe i captured each pedal's general voicing.

at least, it's better than nothing    :icon_mrgreen:

I added some more Thor clips.

This time i used my 335 Epiphone, with WCR Crossroads plus all the usual refinements...

The chain is 335, Original spec Rangemaster, Thor, Fender Twin Reverb.

In the real world, the huge headroom from the twin with all that spectacular cranked Thor tone, makes a really addictive sound!

I hope you can get an idea with those clips.

alderbody

New clips added.

Thor at 18 Volts and Wah with a magnet on the Yellow Fasel inductor.

alderbody

Added new clips.

This time it's Aron's Smash Drive. (full version, with EQ)

btw, it's this one:

I usually play it with all tonestack pots at full, or with full treble and bass and low to no mids. Gain stays low (this thing can scream at any gain level) and volume too.

I push it with my resonance pedal to add some sweetness to the edgy distortion.

alderbody

...Germanium clips added.

FF_AC128.mp3
FF+Range_p1_tonelow.mp3
FF+Range_p2.mp3

are from my Fuzzface with Ac128.
When it's pushed by the OC44 rangemaster it gives a very juicy sound, but it's terribly noisy!

FuzzTone_335.mp3
FuzzTone_335_1.mp3
FuzzTone_335_2.mp3

are from my FZ-1 clone with original spec transistors, operated @1.5V. Really good retro-fuzz tone.
It's way better with Humbucker loaded guitars.

Rangemaster_335.mp3

It's my OC44 Rangemaster on the Twin reverb. Volume is cranked, yet master volume is set low in order to get the twin closer to OD.
The range does the rest...

ToneBender_MkII_Strat.mp3
ToneBender_MkII_Strat_2.mp3
ToneBender_MkII_Strat_3.mp3

are from my ToneBender Mk-II clone. I had to replace Q3 with an Ac128 (120 Hfe) because the one i used got very leaky and it was impossible to bias. The AC128 sounds really good in there, too.
The little switch enables the .01uF input treble cap. The difference is audible, but not quite on the first clip. It's great both ways...

Thanks man!

what do you mean by "clips don't work"? Those ones on the post are just references.
The clips are here(as always):

btw, that box with the bottom lid on top is kinda different than the typical Hammond-like, so it was much better that way.

I made some more pedals with these boxes.

New clips added today.

FF_CV7112+reso.mp3
FF_CV7112+reso_.mp3
FF_CV7112+reso_allpos.mp3

are from my FuzzFace with aron's CV7112 devices. I added the resonance pedal (also with a CV7112 @ Q1) for extra boost.

Thor_multi-range_Br.mp3
Thor_multi-range_Nk.mp3

are from the Thor pushed by my CV7112 Rangemaster with an input cap selector, each with a different "voice"...
here they are:

Tweed_335_1.mp3
Tweed_335_2.mp3

are from the sweet ROG Professor Tweed played with the WCR loaded Epi 335.  (without a CV7112.... :icon_mrgreen:)

new addition.

Some clips of my Ross compressor clone with extra "attack" control and all the known mods selectable.

This time i use my maple boarded Strat loaded with SD SSL-1s.

the clips are:

Comp_allpos.mp3
Comp_Full_sus.mp3
Comp_Full_sus1.mp3
Comp_low2high_sus.mp3

I also added two clips of the Thor, this time driven by the ROG eighteen, which is driven by the AMZ Booster.

My 18 sounds very clean and i think it needs re-biasing.

anyway the clips are:

Thor+18+AMZBoost.mp3
Thor+18+AMZBoost1.mp3

and they all are located here:
