Very simple boost, to use with ANY PNP, which means germanium-friendly.
Combination of bias and input control. Since PNP biases to negative voltage, a simple "volume" control does the trick.
For some grainy, wooly boost. Very useful IMHO in front of (too) low gain fuzz projects.

Wow, it's very simple. Soundclips???

nice! finally a use for all those 2n3906's i have laying around. i never really build pnp much, as it conflicts with my pedal power and i don't use batteries, but this would be good for boosters for some friends!

That's actually a negative ground circuit, so you could use it.

Quotenegative ground circuit,

Ok, now I have a use for those pesky PNP Germaniums! Nice little thingy! 8)
I am not responsible for your imagination.

Hey if you want to build negative friendly positive ground circuit, you can use a circuit like this: http://www.aaroncake.net/circuits/vinvertr.asp

I would recommend the use of schottky diodes in there.

You could also use the +9/-9 supply from geo and just not use the +9.
