Suggested trannie gains for a Colorsound Overdriver project?

I was thinking about tackling the Colorsound Overdriver project found here since I have a bunch of BC109 trannies. Any suggestions as to what gains I should be looking for when testing them? Thanks.

I don't think the amount of gain is that important in that circuit, but the BC109s I used in mine were all about 350 and it sounds amazing.
