This is a stupid question, i bet its been answered like 6 times on this forum and i just couldn't find it... anyways: what does this pedal actually do? Yeah its a booster, but a what booster? a volume booster? a distortion booster? a treble booster? Thanks, and sorry again for the noob question

generally, a boost or booster is a simple clean amplifier. people talk about "transparency" a lot when they describe boosters, but what makes them interesting (to me) is that they also colour the tone some. i think that it's well-worth trying several.

I believe it`s basically a volume boost. Useful for pushing your amp into overdrive. From what I can tell it also adds some distortion of its own. I haven`t made it myself (keep meaning to) but it gets good reports, even from those who`ve been making pedals for years.

ok thanks. I'm a fan of Tony Iommi, esp. his oldschool sound, and for that you basically need really high output pickups and a rangemaster. well, i have the rangemaster, and am too cheap to buy modded pickups, so i'll just build this thing instead
