okay,i built this on the updated schem, so i already had the right caps in  :icon_confused:

here are my voltages listed proper:

Q1
D = 8.85
S = 4.77
G = 8.22

Q2
D = 8.85
S = 4.52
G = 4.22

Q3
D = 4.02
S = 2.29
G = 3.38

Q4
D = 4.77
S = 0.76
G = 4.13

Q5
D = 4.52
S = 0.60
G = 0.00

the voltage on Q5 doesn't change with the gain pot, but i have no solder bridges (checked with continuity tester), do you think Q5 might be bad?

Here are readings from one of mine. The other one is lent out to a friend. Both sound great.

Batt V = 8.79

Q1
D= 4.60
S= 0.71
G= 0.00

Q2
D= 8.09
S= 4.60
G= 3.85

Q3
D= 4.10
S= 0.08
G= 0.00

Q4
D= 8.08
S= 4.10
G= 3.83

Q5
D= 3.52
S= 1.35
G= 0.00

I hope this is helpful. I'm not sure whats wrong with yours though.

Apart from the renumbering of the FETs compared to the GGG schematic (Q4=GGGQ1, Q1=GGGQ2, Q5=GGGQ3, Q2=GGGQ4 & Q3=GGGQ5),

Something looks amiss around the first FET (Q4=GGGQ1) - have you got Gate and Source reversed?
Something odd around the Gate of Q1 (GGGQ2) as well - that should be around 1/2 battery voltage.

The final FET Q3 (GGGQ5) also is off but that may be due to incorrect bias.

Check the pinouts of the first two FETs Q4 and Q1. (GGG Q1 & Q2) Are they reversed? Check again. Are you absolutely sure.
Are you getting any signal at the top of the DRIVE Pot? That would validate the first stage.
Signal at the to of R14 would validate stages 1 and 2....

EUREEKA!!!

a word of advice.

never accidentally let a bunch of 78L05 voltage regulators accidentally get put in your 2n5457 drawer!!! apparently i had put them in instead of the 2n5457's i thought i had. can't find the 5457's so i put in mpf102 and it fired right up! only thing is that the mpf102's are lower gain and you have to crank the gain knob to even get halfway useable overdrive. i'll switch whenever i can find those 2n5457's i had. i'll post results...
