I found some 1/4" stereo jacks on ebay(don't want to post the link, i'd hate to have them stolden ;)) for 10 bucks shipped for 10. Is that worth it or can I get them cheaper from somewhere else? It's just costing me way to much $4 for 2 at RS.

You need a glade plug-in, in on a footswitch.  Kick on the big muff, then hit the air freshener pedal.

You can get 10 Neutrik stereo jacks at Smallbear for 1.15 each and not have to worry about an Ebay scam. http://www.smallbearelec.com/Detail.bok?no=568 Smallbear sells cheaper jacks too, but I don't use them. What brand are the ones on Ebay?

Didn't say a brand, the seller is a big one with 99.3% positive feedback, although I know things can go wrong. They look just like the RS one's though. How much is Smallbear's shipping?

Shipping is usually 8.00 for Fedex but I live very close to N.Y.

Just some "cheap" jacks - also, I'm thinking of moving to the enclosed square type instead of the open frame Switchcraft type.  Anyone have any input either way.  Just that the enclosed type seem more flexible in terms of layout.

Whatever you buy, avoid the Chinese-made jacks at RS. They are not well-made, and they sometimes break when tightened. The Neutrik parts, while they are Chinese-made are a good alternate to Switchcraft.

SBE minimum shipping is only $4.50 if First Class Mail is OK. Fedex Ground minimum is steep because they charge me for a pound no matter what. That service is also traceable and insured. It's good for larger packages.

Happy Construction!

You'd be smart to avoid the jacks Weber sells as well. They make the RS jacks look like premium mil-spec parts. I've had verrrrry bad luck with them falling apart or otherwise failing. I've even had ones where the tip and sleeve were shorted together internally.
