Here's a link for your reading enjoyment.
Looks like Original Dan Armstrong schems plus Mustronics schems.

I guess it couldn't handle it!
Or, the circuit Sheriff is a quicker draw than I thought!  :icon_razz:

It`s alright, I`ve got `em now. All tucked up safely on my harddrive. Hehhehheh.

Mark, I really don't think you should have posted that link. If enough people see those schems, Dan Armstrong might go out of business. I'll have to check Ebay in a couple of weeks to see all the Dan Armstrong clones that are gonna pop up now.  8)

9 volts

...........no diodes in the green ringer.......what does this mean?

GREEN FUZ

Not sure but there seems to be a component marked #0820 where the diodes ought to be.

  I get "Sorry Blah Blah...un-available"
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

It comes and goes, you just have to keep trying. It eventually will work.

This was posted on another thread about the green ringer.

http://www.freeinfosociety.com/electronics/schematics/audio/greenringer.pdf

I believe it explains what the mystery component is.

It reminded me of having read before that you can use leaky germanium transistors as diodes. There are various threads relating to this but if I remember correctly I first saw it on R.G Keen`s site.

I may be mistaken here but, I think many moons ago, there was a Diode, perhaps even a Dual Diode available in
the TO-92 package. I've see some and I think I have some salvaged from somewhere but, I'm not sure.

Aren't all transistors dual diodes?
Am learning something new every day here

It means that there is no component specifically packaged as a diode there. There are parts used as diodes.

You're correct, there were such. But that's not what this is.
QuoteAren't all transistors dual diodes?
In one sense, yes. However, if the circuit sets them up correctly, you get transistor action. That does not happen with two discrete diodes hooked together.

The GR is set up so that you can use a transistor as a dual diode or two actual diodes.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

So, this must be the schem with the "mystery" transistor in it that no one seemed to know what it was right?
The colors must designate C-B-E I would assume.
