With the help of the fine folks on this here website, I managed to get some sound out of my Ross compressor clone off the Tonepad site (bad CA3080 OTA).

http://www.tonepad.com/getFileInfo.asp?id=9

What I didn't get is a compressed sound. It's sounds more like a boost than a compessor (no squish). But then life took over momentarily and I was forced to put it on the back burner.

Well, since I'm dealing with another 'bout of insomnia I decided to tackle this and try to get it working properly. From what I've been reading, it sounds like my problem is somewhere in the rectification ckts., but I haven't a clue how to check it out without an oscilliscope.

Here are my voltages. I used the listing off of  Fuzz Central for reference:

http://fuzzcentral.ssguitar.com/ross.php

Power to pcb - 9.6v (using a Boss 9.6v transformer)
IC - 1 - 0v
      2 - 5v
      3 - 5v
      4 - 0v
      5 - 5.97v
      6 - 2.9v
      7 - 9.6v
      8 - 0v
Transistors -
Q1 - C - 7.58v
       B - 2.4v
       E - 2.0v
Q2 - C - 7.3v
       B - 2.9v
       E - 2.3v
Q3 - C - 9.6v
       B - 0v
       E - 0v
Q4 - C - 9.6v
       B - 0v
       E - 0v
Q5 - C - 9.6v
       B - 9.6v
       E - 8.9v

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
