Tone Stack Question

All,

I'm trying to learn how to add tone stacks to simple builds, and it was pointed out to me that I need to know what the impedance of the circuit is before attempting to add a tone stack.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a tech page that could explain to me how to calculate impedance?  I would like to be able to use Duncan's Tone Stack Calculator to match a tone stack to a few different simple builds.

Thanks in advance!

Just scanned through your other thread, the one that led you here.  Your circuit works but the tone stack is sucking all the volume........ Well add a recovery stage after it to boost the volume back up.  Think Big muff and you will be there

Just my 2 pennies worth ;)

That's exactly what I was thinking, but for my own info, I want to learn about impedance and other tech issues so I can experiment a little.

Thanks for the help!

This is what I came up with earlier, the Marsha Valve with a Big Muff tone stack.

Does anyone see any errors or have any suggestions for changes?

Thanks,

Axl

Ahh I see, well Impeance you wont be going far wrong if you pay a visit to Geofex http://www.geofex.com/Article_Folders/impednc.htm RG has written plenty there to get you going.  May be more there didnt look too hard hell look what google kicked up http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&safe=off&q=impedance&meta=

Do yourself a big favour and post a schem or link to schems when posting layouts its hard to check even with the best will in the world if people cant see what its meant to be doing ;)

Gotcha!

THanks for the help.

Here's the schematics of the Marsha Valve and the Big Muff tonestack....
