Trogador! Burninate is one of the best words ever coined!

I have always loved the name Bixonix Expandora (as mentioned) - something about the x's, about the forbidden setting and something about Billy Gibbons that makes it awesome!
Talking about Muffs, the clones/variations usually have some pretty out there names - I'm thinking Creampie and Swollen Pickle to name a few...
I also love the name Klon Centaur. No comment about the actual pedal, I think the name rips!

And the best is of course Echo Base! mmm... battle of Hoth...

I came up with this a few years ago, but now that Ive found the Dr Boogie pedal I'm going to make one and call it this:

A name of a commerically available pedal?  I love ZVex's Super Hard On.
To those about to rock, we salute you.

Big Muff Rams Head, allegedly David Gilmour's version, obviously then had to be the Big Pink Muff, with a loose representation of a Pink Ram's Head on it.. Well, sort of. Ish. Maybe.
BS+ (which could be Boutique Screamer+ or...)- TS808 with all the mods, tone stack, clippers, booster.

Big Pink would make me think of The Band before Floyd.

It matters not. Floyd was only the way to get there, not the destination.  :D

Believe me- there's no mistaking the Big Pink Muff.... ;) Mrs (Dr) Diamonddog almost got out the ink blots to talk to me about it.
It's your sound. Take no prisoners. Follow no brands. Do it your way.

the "black finger" and "golden throat" from Electro Harmonix

come to think of it.. most of EH's 70's pedals had funky names

I like to rename my DIY pedals. I take the names from the box material, old sci-fi movies, songs, etc...

for example:
The Love Screamer - fuzz built in a heart shaped tin (one control labeled 'love')
Tuna drive - od built in a tuna can (one control labeled 'tuna')
Ticket to Ride - a loop box
Ticket to Ride part II: Function at the junction - a three loop box
Laser Squad - pulse wave modulator (laser sounds...)
the Low Rider - a suboctave thing built in a pencil case from the movie "Cars"
Fisherman's Fuzz - fuzz built in a Fisherman's Friend tin
Good Viberations - easyvibe
the Pipe Holler' - valvecaster
Double Helix - atari punk console (two oscillators...)
Duff Buzz - muff fuzz (the simpsons beer...)

yet to be built: BNIAB2 ... I'll let you figure that one out by yourselves...

Holy crap this thread is old!

Here's a few which I don't think have been used...yet...?

Cash Machine (everyone will want one)
Golden God (for those open shirt zep moments)
Rapberry (must be some sort of farty fuzz face clone)

Oh my... I meant Raspberry of course...

Well, today I've found the ultimate in funky, or should we say mildly offensive and probably hillarious, stompbox names:

The Scrotum Smasher.

Read all about it here: http://www.metasonix.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=35&Itemid=66

If you are at work you might find that the posh girl at the next desk will find the information on that website rather annoying, and your boss may start asking questions. So be warned.  :icon_mrgreen:

P.S. They make a guitar amp too... The adventurous may want to explore the Metasonix site more thoroughly. Personally I had a good laugh. You may too.

newfish

Seriously?

Five grand for an experimental amp?

True, it's very clever and all, but that's a lot of cash.

One or two good tones from the video (subjective, I know...), but surely you could accomplish something similar with a couple of mis-biased Fuzz Faces?

I wish the guy well - he's clearly crazy enough to succeed - but can't imagine how many he's aiming to sell...

....*great* names for his kit though.

Any suggestions for a soon-to-be-finished Optical Tremolo Pedal?

Wobbletron has been taken, and a simple 'Tremolo' logo just doesn't feel right...

  Raspberry has 'Rasp' in it.
Fuzztones are said by laywomen to 'makes the guitar sound 'Raspy''. That would have been a more interesting name than DS-1..."Rasp"...makes your guitar sound like electro-charged shavings.

I second the Burninator. Yes, it comes from a Homestar Runner cartoon:

Still an awesome name, if not particularly original. I think the trick is to have really good, dragon-themed names for your knobs.
