i built the opamp big muff and i'm preatty happy about it.
but i got some questions:
first the 8k2 resistor before the 741, i noticed some people changed it to a 33k, cause they had some oscillation problems. i tryed this too, and the pedal seam now a bit more quiter. but i read you can put in place of it a 50k pot so that you can controll the bias of the 741, is it true?

then i noticed a schem with a pair of mod about the gain pot (47ohm resistor direct to ground and a 10uF cap between the pot an pin7 of the 4558), what birng wiring it like that? is it better?
here you'll fine the schem:  http://analogguru.100free.com/193/schematics/EH_BigMuffPi_OP-77.gif

Did you try the 8.2k first?  If you like it leave the 8.2K in.  When I used the 33k I didn't notice that it was too low in volume.  I'm sure it lowered it some. But the squealing and oscillation is why.   I also did add the 10k tantalum cap after pin 7 in the sustain section.  I felt it sounded better even though it might be too tame for some die hard Op Amp BMPers.
Some of those mods are from Justin Philpott and Tobias Karlsson so maybe their websites maybe of some help.

thankyou oldrocker,
btw i founded a pair of schem of the deluxe big muff, which is basically a opamp BM togheter witha soul preacher compressor.
in the BM section i founded some differences with the schem we already know for the simple opamp BM.

here you got a link to it: http://i6.tinypic.com/73jxaid.jpg

what do you think those changes can do in term of sound?

Seems to me that the Deluxe Version 2 would be Fuzzier and louder than the orginal, sort of like an Op amp version of the Creamy Dreamer.  Deluxe ver 1 maybe a little less fuzzy?  This is just a guess on my part so don't just go by my evaluation.
