Hey all, I just built a Tonebender MKII fuzz which sounds great. The only problem is there is a dealy in the signal when it's turned on.
Is this common or did I do something stupid?
The delay is at the first transistor, signal is on the base when swithced on, but the output at the collector takes a millisecond to be amplified....leaky FET?
Thanks.

Do you mean a delay when you hit each note? On Q1 a 1 meg resistor base to -9V might help for Ge. Maybe FETs don't work well in this circuit.

To clarify, when you first switch the fuzz on there's a delay in the sound until the first transistor turns on.
They are supposed to germaniums in these fuzz'z.
I don't know why I siad "FET" duh! there's no FETS in the darn circuit! not awake yet!
This is the 3 gremanium PNP transistor fuzz.......

Looks like the 1M did the trick.
Have no idea if it changed the sound since I'm at work and can just view the response on a scope with a signal applied.
Thanks.
