How should be the input 4.7uF input cap oriented in Tonebender MKII (pnp, positive ground) clone? I turned it the other way than the schematics show and it works. Is that because i have a pull down in front of it? Actually, how can i find out how to place a polarised cap into a circuit?

thanks Jan

As per schematic, negative on the transistor end, cos the transistor is slightly negative. The guitar signal could get more negative than the transistor base, so the voltage difference may get reversed anyway. It would probably work backwards, but the right way round is good too.
Look at the schematic, or work out which side of the cap is more negative.
