Does anybody here know a simple procedure to test CMOS devices to see if they are faulty?  Maybe something to test them while they are still in the circuit as well.  Thanks.

Hi
depends which CMOS.  An audio probe is very handy, and can diagnose a lot of CMOS faults.  For switches, etc, a DMM can do most testing.
