Sorry, there's something I don't get.
I thought the whole point of the mod to fix the ticking problem was actually not to connect the LFO to VCC but to bias it to something like 4.5V (which is the case on DIY guitar pedal current schem available online)...
Am I missing something ?

matlevo12 the best way to eliminate ticks is to isolate lfo / 3207 / 4046 as much as you can, yes. Helps a lot (in my case) to put a buffer in front of the zombie chorus (what I did). The last thing I did was buit a little jfet buffer and put it  the same box of the zombie chorus II, the small size helps to fit just below the 3pdt switch. The input jack goes to the buffer input, the buffer output right to the 3pdt input jack pin, this way the buffer works all the time just like boss pedals. No ticks, zero noises and the signal is great no matter if the chorus is activated or not.

I used 2.2M instead 1M for biasing and improve the input impedance.

Thanks, I got it, but I was asking about the "I cut the power trace from your version and connected the LFO directly to VCC" part.
Wasn't the whole point about "Mark Hammer and Erik"'s advice not to connect the LFO to VCC, actually ?
What trace are you referring to ? On my version ?

You are using a 4558 for LFO, I cut the power line located in front of this IC, and solder a a 33 ohm resistor just above the 10k resistor direct to the 9V input. The power trace is for 4046, 3207 and TL062. At right side above you let a few free points which I used for the 33 ohm resistor (+9v) and a 10u cap to isolate the LFO part.

for tickers who want anti-ticking try this:

basically, on the 4046 in the schemo the 9v goes to pin 16.....however, i connected the 9v to pin 15 too (which on the datasheet they call 'zener' (pin-15)

and voil'a, utterly silent   8)

I will try this solution later, sadly I`ll be at work for the next 7 days. Would the 9v go to pins 14/15/16 then?, 9v feeds pins 14 and 16 (4046) in the schematic / layout.

yes...try a jumper on it for now.

i had it on breadboard for a while and discovered tying pin 15 to 9v cured the tick.

note: however it wasnt for me as it seems to be suited for single pickups, hit it hard with humbuckers and it cracks up a little....i tried a few things to tame the crackle to no avail, so gave up with the zombie.

but yeah it works...  8)

I had distortion problems  with the hambuckers the time I build the orange squeezer and then I changed the 4558 for LF353..  ...worked great, I did it the same here this morning, I used LF353 instead TL062 for LFO and TL062 for input and output, cero distortion. Plus I have the small jfet buffer between input jack and 3pdt switch..   ...no tick at all, any time :)

The LF353 datasheet shows 13 V/ms slew rate and low supply current 3.6 mA (I`m no using batteries), maybe this is helping in some way too..    ....I just know the buffer in front helps a lot!.

Very happy with the results.
