DIY compressor - what compressor

Has anyone actually built the Weak Joe Compressor already? I'm just very curious how this compressors performs on bass or as 'studio' compressor? Seems like a very interesting though extensive project (which is the reason I haven't built it yet), but if it pays off well I'd be willing to have a go at it. Soundclips perhaps?
