hi there,

I want a transformer to draw less current that its suposed to.. a this time is charging my stompboxes with ±13v and that means mal funcion of two of my builds and a fried lm386
What can i do? at ±9v it would be just fine...

by the way, my little gem with a 9v battery gets unstable after a while... what could it be?

thanks in advance

You need a volyage regulator - 7809 or LM317 would do it.

Or rather TWO regulators if he really wants a +9 and a - 9v.
A 7809 and a 7909. And note the different pinouts.

no, a +9v is enough for me... i'm just a beginner, just building something that can support my needs. not looking for a higher ground.

but return to the little gem issue:
why does it get unstable after a while, with a 9v battery? is it from some twisted cap, or something else?

thanks

Unstable?  How?  Squeals?  Motorboating?  Maybe it's a flat battery?

i don't know how to describe it.
it's not about making sounds from the thing... the guitar signal don't come out from tiny time spaces...
it's like ______-____--_-___--_--_-___--_
get it?
