I have a couple of samples of the new THAT 2162 dual VCA in the hideous QSOP package - just 0.196 inches long or 4.8mm. What madness is this? I can't even take a picture of the damn thing, even on macro setting! Perhaps there is a trick to make this bugger useable.

Stephen,

another option is http://www.schmartboard.com/

Active carries some of them. I've bought one of these for an FV-1 chip, but have not gotten arounf to trying yet.
Denis,
Nothing witty yet ...

will see for you tomorrow morning, whether I got one or two of my surf adapters left over,
so you could send me the chippies,
and get them back ready for breadboarding...

Futurlec has a range of (cheap!) adaptor boards. A friend just ordered a bunch.

had a look: still got a couple of unpopulated ones (QSOP16 to DIL)...
pre-drilled for those pin-arrays needed to put it into a breadboard...

send me 1 or 2 chips, and I`ll send them back readily mounted/soldered for "plug`n`play"...  :icon_wink:
