Hi All - I just picked up one of these pedals and for me it is close to spot on as far as overdrive pedals go. That being said I may look into replacing the 1N914 clipping diodes with some LED's since I liked what they did in my MT-2, any other recommendations? I would also like a way to scoop the mids, again any recommendations would be appreciated. For those interested the pedal sounds very Tube Screamerish but with a lot more bass on tap. It also lets more of the guitar's true tone through. There is a great demo of the pedal out on youtube if you care to give it a listen. The schematic can be found at http://www.morleypedals.com/ddboldes.pdf. This pedal seems like a real sleeper to me....

Thanks!

Easiest way to scoop mids is to add a BMP tone control. I'd replace whatever tone control with it and see how you like it.

Thanks for the reply! I have been kicking the idea around and I am not sure I want to lose the original tone. Is there a way to accomplish cutting the mids and retaining the original tone control? Maybe using a push\pull pot?

Also is there any good information on replacing the 1N914's with a different type of "clipper"? I have used germanium and LED, but I have also seen some talk about mosfet circuits?

Thanks again!
