a friend was asking me if i knew of a build for a really strait forward fuzz but with a tone stack. What does this mean and what are some designs for one? Does generalguitargadgets.com have an pre made pcbs for this?

THANKS!

Straight forward?  No.  Tonestack? Yes.  PCB? No.

Still cool though, and an excellent write-up.

Dude, you should go to runoffgroove.com and check out the amp emulators.  You could use those tone stacks with any fuzz, but it might need a gain recovery stage after the tone section.  You can really egt into some crazy tones with more flexible eq-ing, but I would think that you also will likely increase noise.

Another possibility is the old classic of tacking the big muff pi tone stack on the end of an effect.  Once again a gain stage may be necessary to get the levels up.

Jack Orman has some tone controls over at amz.

You could try the mid-scoop from the Shinei fuzzes.

There are tons of tone controls; if you search you can find them.
