Will a charge pump generate heat, does it need air?

I have a project that will be using a charge pump on a daughterboard. It will be secured to the enclosure but I was also thinking about enclosing in shrink tubing just be extra safe. I've read posts about charge pumps heating up but if they're built properly and everything is running as it should, could I shrink tube the daughterboard with no worries? Thanks.

It probably depends on the current draw but you could test it with a finger to see if it gets warm in circuit before you wrap it up.
Probably ok though...

I've never seen one damaged by heat, when you try to draw too much current the voltage usually just sags.
What kills them - in my experience - is exceeding the specified peak input voltage. :icon_redface:
