Boss CH1 Super Chorus, Vibrato mod? Is there one?

That was the first circuit I tried, but when i breaded it out I couldnt get it to fully work. There was always some sort of high frequency hiss that was added into the output signal. I used BJTs as pictured, but I think some sort of FET would be best suited for this...thoughts and success stories much appreciated!
