I have a circuit I'd like to build as a starting point for several projects that will use various mechanical effects. The circuit will be something like:

--->input--->power amp--->(off board mechanical apparatus)                                   microphone preamp <--------(offboard microphone)
        |                                                                                                    |
        |---------------------------------------> blend circuit <------------------- filter <---------------|
        |                                                |
        |                                               \/
        |-----------------------------------------> bypass ---------------------> output

The power amp would be small, in the 5 watts range. Mic pre would be a very simple deal,  just using a little electret cartridge for the mic. The filter would also be very simple, just a treble roll-off/low pass with no resonance.

I'm looking for a PCB layout and parts list. Contact me if this is something you can do and we discuss money and details. Hope it's cool to post this here, it seemed more appropriate than sell/buy, but I could be wrong.

Taylor you need give more description so we know what your trying to do. What do you mean by mechanical apparatus? Would there be transducers for those? If you have no trade secrets you might get some folks here to design it for free.

Just guessing you might want to look at a talk box, Pipe bomb, or spring reverb to get you started.

Some small amps

The basic idea is to create something like a spring or plate reverb, but designed to accentuate the sound-coloring characteristics of each with less regard to the reverbation. For instance, using a heavy but relatively small sheet of metal, allowed to vibrate freely, in contrast with a plate reverb, which is supposed to have large surface area but be very thin and under tension.

Similarly, a spring reverb using a very beefy but short spring increases the metallic resonance, but decreases the reverb effect. I have a ton of ideas for mechanical effects, so this circuit will basically be the starting point for these experiments.

I don't have much problem building circuits like small power amps, etc. any of the components of my idea. But since I don't have much electronics knowledge, I usually run into problems trying to combine several circuits, as I'm doing here. I have tried to work it out before, and even made a prototype, but I have too many ideas and not enough time, so I am seeking help instead of Doing I mYself.
