Hey again,

Looking to remove the regulator from my vintage deluxe electric mistress. its the one with the internal transformer. I want to use my own power supply so i do not have to run AC to the board. Just wondering what componenets I would need to remove (if any) and where i can "plug" 12vdc+ into the board. heres a schematic: Mine has a 78L12 541Pregulator, just a small one, looks like a normal transistor maybe its a to-92 package

I cant find a schematic anywhere that has that particular regulator setup...but, theoretically...couldn't I remove the regulator and simply plug in at its output? It might go through further filtering but...so what..?

Also, does anyone know how much current these things pull? I guess it cant be that much the regulator is rated at 100ma.

I guess thats whats in mine...

That should work.  Not sure of the actual current draw but I imagine its less than 30mA. Drop a 1 ohm resistor in line with the +12 and measure it.

thanks!

But hey...does anything with the grounding change?? It looks like the center tap was linked the ground...so, probably not...but just checking
