Has anyone played with or seen any info on building just the feedbacker part of this pedal to use with other distortions?
I love the pitch control and the way it is triggered with the footswitch but Im not a fan of the distortion and would love to see it used with other circuits.

The full schematic for the effect is here http://www.schematicheaven.com/effects/boss_df2_distortion_feedbacker.pdf with a bit of working out i'm sure you could take the cbits of the cicuit you need and add the bits you want to other dist/ drive circuits.

From a quick look at the DF2 it looks like it has an input buffer that is then fed to 2 op amps (IC3 a AND b) with diodes rectifing each side of the waveform that is then fed into a flipflop but this is as far as i have looked. Its an interesting cicuit i will have a good look to see if i can figure it out.

Behringer sells a clone of one ( http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/FD300.aspx ).  Save yourself a headache.  Buy one and mod it.  The distortion part is easily salvageable and eminently moddable.

The trickiest part of it is really the triggering/engaging of the overtone generator.

Thanks Mark, Ive just looked up the behringer df300 and wow, at £21 in the uk you couldn't even get near it to make yourself.

Hey, it's the same fundamental extractor from the Boss OC-2, and the music from outer space guitar synth.
