Substitution of germanium transistors for silicon ones - is it possible?

I have found some fuzz circuits I would possibly like to build, but have not found any germanium transistors locally in stores (and I don't really want to order parts online). Is there any way to substitue some other, more common silicon transistors? Specific ones I was looking at were the AC128 ge transistors which some of the circuits require. If so, then how? Thanks and apologies for starting so many threads these past 2 days hehe...  :D

Yes, of course, but you have to rebias and it will not sound the same. It might be better to look for Si adaptations on the net. (google: fuzzcentral )
There are lots of Si fuzzes out there.
